Project: Southport Courthouse
Builder: QLD Attorney Generals Department
QLD Attorney Generals Departments operations manager evaluated the various KwikSeal Systems for use on this prestigious building situated in Southport QLD. For many years, the building had experienced water intrusion into various sections of the main working courthouse. Balconies were successfully treated and sealed with KwikSeal KwikSpray SP80A Plural membranes with total success.
What followed over a five-year period was the treatment of all water intrusion points from Roof areas, plant rooms and the final encapsulation of the ground based area that was to be the new “Water catchment area” that was to house the water retention tanks that fed water from the roof levels to ground.
Beneath this area is the basement storage area and adjacent magistrate’s chambers. This environment required total encapsulation. No mistakes here.
The system chosen was the KwikSeal KwikSpray SP90A Polyurea spray membrane. Shore A hardness of 90A and chemical resistance to handle whatever may contact the membrane. The final Top Coat of trafficable anti-slip KwikSeal KwikGrip ensure OH&S issues would be outdated.
